Jennifer Finney Boylan’s memoir Stuck in the Middle with You
was a great eye opener to me since I’ve really haven’t had any experiences with
transgender persons (well at least that I don’t know of) and also since I don
not have any children of my own. Boylan discusses the difficulties in
parenting, which seems to be tough enough for both mothers and father. But she
unlike most parents has a different view on parenting, first being a father
then eventually though some heartache a mother of two little boys. In her
memoir she raises the question of what is the difference between the roles of "mother" and "father," other than gender. Is it physical skills, emotional skills, or something else? Boylan interviews family friends and colleagues with a whole range of nontraditional upbringings and experiences of parenting.
I usually don't read to much non-friction but I loved this book, plus their were a few laugh out loud moments. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 5. From additional information please click the links below.
